I think your script for creating fake developers is broken - is she called Laura, Lucy or Sophie?

Also: please stop emailing me.

With all due respect,

Tom.

Dear WebCR/1.0

Posted by Tom on 17/08/2010 09:45:58

Please fuck off.

Love and kisses,

Tom

It's a web crawler of some sort that is currently molesting one of our client's sites. According to Tracer T it's being run out of some crappy domestic DSL in Montreal using the user agent string 'WebCR/1.0'. Which would be fine (bandwidth sucking, but fine) except that it's using a corrupted viewstate so I'm getting an error alert in my email for every page it hits. I got in this morning to find 1873 emails in my inbox. It seems benign but with that much noise we really can't be sure.

Either way, it's dropped the signal to noise ratio of our error reporting to 0 so it's getting blocked. Just seems odd that I can't find any mention of it anywhere on the Tubes.

IE6 - Like that fungal infection you swore you'd gotten rid of this time

Posted by Tom on 14/08/2009 10:03:01

Well, fuck.

I honestly believe that IE6 retarded web development by 4 years and even today it is a constant battle trying to build sites to web standards that work on that hacky, fossilised heap of crap.

The blame seems to be on lazy IT departments and lame intranet app developers (loltroll), so if you see someone from either of those camps in the street, kick them in the balls once from me and everyone else on the Internet.
